I have 2 questions.
1. the Auto refresh feature - is that compatible with latest IE version ? or it is better on Chrome.
2. I am using JIRA 7.9.2 - The JIRA ticket number does that not display on the screen every time whenever someone is working on the same and to identify the same one has to go to Issues and then only one can find out the ticket number making it difficult while working on multiple tickets simultaneously , is this feature upgraded in the latest version?

I suggest not focussing on IE anymore as support for it will retire soon.
Cloud already no longer supports it and the Server version doesn't from version 8.6

2. Where are you not seeing the ticket id? In which screen do they work and not see the ticket id?
