Hello

Possible stupid question but I only want members to be able to view the projects they are assigned to but Jira is telling me

'A group name (shown in brackets) indicates that the group is a member of the projects role, and the user is a member of the group, so the user is an indirect member of the project role'

If a user is an indirect member can they view everything in the project? Do I need to create new groups/roles for each project?

Thanks

You will need to assign groups or users to the roles in every project. You can have the same group or different groups for the same role in dfferent projects.

Who (or which role) can do what in a project is defined using project permissions.
