InProduct Translation for JIRA

I am currently running Jira Software 7.13.2

In the Addons i can see that the plugin "InProduct Translation for JIRA" is currently disabled.  Is this plugin required?  

I can see in the marketplace there is a new version available for JIRA 8+.

Hi Paul,

The add-on InProduct Translation for JIRA is not required. This is necessary only if you need to translate Jira items or change menu names directly from the UI. For example, there is the button Create issue, but you want it to be called Create tasks, then the add-on will help you to change that.
