In Jira cloud, the columns selected in the list view are not what's printed when exporting the list

Udo Carls January 2, 2025

I'm trying to export a list with just certain columns selected. When choosing "Export > Print list" the columns are different to the the one I chose to display in the list view. I don't seem to be able to control which columns display. This has never been the case in Jira Datacenter. Has anyone else had trouble with the columns in the print export? And is there a solution to this?

Hi @Udo Carls welcome to the community.  In my instance, if I select 'Issues' from the left navigation menu, and then select 'Export / Print List' the columns match up from the issues and the Print List.  Some of the labels are different, but the data is showing the same columns in the same order.  If I remove columns, I'm also seeing the same results.

It's possible I'm not using the exact same steps you are.  If you are seeing something different, would it be possible to provide the steps to recreate what you are seeing?

Happy New Year!

Hi @Udo Carls

List View is an option that does't exist in DC.

This view is also not configurable for export., you will need to use the Issue view op the project and add columns or remove them and then export based on visible information or all information.

This is just like in DC.

Hi @Udo Carls and welcome to the community,

On my instance, using the Export List, produces the exact same columns as in my filters.

May I ask from where you are trying to use the Export List?

Hi Alex, thx for the speedy response!
I'm using Export > Print list from the list view of a filter results page.

Could there be some local preference settings overriding my list view? I'm just reading up Jira using IndexedDB to store View settings (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/store-jira-data-on-your-own-device/)

Actually, local storage wasn't enabled for me ...

I think I found it: The export was using my default settings rather than what was currently selected for the list view. Changing the default columns gave me what I wanted.
