In JIRA Service Desk, can I set new Request Participant field via a hidden field on the form?

I would like to automatically set the request participant value as a hidden field, similar to the way I can set an assignee.  But even when I add the Request Participant field to the form, it doesn't seem to allow me to select that field for inclusion on the form.

Hi Jeff, 

I believe that the only configuration you can do regarding this field is If you'd like to hide it at all (remove this feature). To do so, you can visit the service desk > settings > request participants.
