How can I set the time estimate for an issue in JIRA CLI (prefferably with createIssue, if possible)?

I don't think it is supported yet. There is an open issue JCLI-98

Thanks. Shame about that, I like the concept of JIRA via CLI and actually already modified the client to work as a shell (with Jline), but this is a blocker for further use in my case.

Oh well, let's wait for the issue to be resolved then...

Jobin is correct. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-7624 is the corresponding JIRA request. It was closed, but not with the support that was requested :(.
