How to set the default priority in JIRA 4.4?

Erik Ottosen November 9, 2011

Presently, JIRA defaults to using the middle of a list of priorities as the default when a new issue is being created; my team would prefer that the default be two above the middle of our list of nine priorities (since four of them are different ways of saying "Archive").

How do I attain this in JIRA 4.4? There is not an obvious setting for it, like there apparently was in earlier versions.

Hey Erik,

If you go into Administration > Issues > Issue Atributes > Priorities, you should see the list of priorities with the ability to set one as the default in the right column.

This is assuming you only have one team.  Priorities are global.
