How to retain "Reporter" information after a user has been removed

Edited

When a member of one of our Customer groups submits a request via the portal, their name is generated in the "Reporter" field.  However, should the individual leave the company, and are removed from their Customer group, their name also disappears from this field, and is replaced by "Former User".  Is there a way to retain this Reporter information in that field once a user has been deleted?  Jira User-Deactivated.JPG

Hi @seelye_naomi welcome to the Atlassian community.

When the user is marked inactive rather than deleted, the field can retain the reporter name. But if deleted, then it would show as former user which defies the purpose of transparency and Scrum value.

Thank you.  Can you document the steps to follow to mark the user as inactive?  I've looked for that option on the Service Management page, and for the option within the Customer groups, but don't see any option besides Delete to remove a user.

Hi @seelye_naomi  was this ever clarified for you? I have the same query. Thank you

Hi @Angie Thompson  - no, I never did receive an answer
