We recently migrated from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud.

I'm looking for a way to protect the cloud data.

Maybe a backup mechanism that would cover/protect:

  • Issues
  • Projects
  • Screens
  • Workflows
  • Boards
  • Epics
  • Dashboards
  • Filters
  • Sprits
  • Etc

Backups and restores are the responsibility of the customer based on the best practices. What are other companies using to backup/protect their cloud data.

Hi @angel ruiz

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I am part of Revyz we help Atlassian cloud customers protect their data.

Here is a link to our app - Revyz Data Manager for Jira

Feel free to compare and contrast the capabilities we provide, here is a link to what we have to offer - Revyz Data Manager for Jira Capabilities

Two questions have been coming up quite often in this forum:

Q. Does the Revyz app support backup of Automation rules?

A. The Revyz app will be introducing support for Automation rules during the week of Nov 20th

Q. Does the Revyz app support backup of third-party app data?

A. Unfortunately we do not, it is huge problem, which the backup vendor alone cannot solve, it requires the cooperation of the third-party app vendors to build out API's that support that functionality

Happy to answer any other questions, feel free to book time on my calendar

Thank you

Vish

Hi Team,

I have looked into paid apps to manage backup and restore of Jira in particular the app Rewind.  Also I know that we can create an export of our data on demand.

I just wanted to gauge what the majority of people are doing... Are they going the paid app way or are they home brewing something to take scheduled backups and restores.

@angel ruiz

You can manually back up your Cloud data. You can find more information about that here. You can take a backup about once every 6 hours it appears. As @Trudy Claspill mentioned, there are some apps you could look at which help with generating backups automatically. Some of them are paid services, but I believe there are free ones as well. You should be able to filter for which ones are paid when viewing them in the Atlassian marketplace.

Thanks,

Kian

Hello @angel ruiz

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

There are several third party apps that add backup and restore capabilities.
