How to Edit access to Jira Storys

I have access to Jira and Projects ; how ever i am not able to edit the Stories or Epics for a given project.

what is the process to get contributor access for a given project?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

You will need to talk to the administrators of the Jira instance you are accessing. Depending on the project type and how they have configured their system, the Project Administrators may be able to give you the access you need. Or they may need to escalate to the Jira Product Administrators.

If you don't know who to contact, you could start by asking the people who told you to access that Jira instance.
