How do you order by dates in Jira big picture?

I currently have epics & issues in Jira Big Picture Gantt view to track project progress. However, even when I click on the Epics - Organize Tasks --> Start Date, not all tasks are sorted by Start Date. Is there a way to sort epics and tasks by date in the configuration?

When it comes to sorting your tasks based on given criteria in the BigPicture Gantt module, you can do it easily by navigating to the "Data -> Organize tasks A-Z/Z-A" menu. However, please note that in order to be able to select particular sorting criteria, this must be first added to the column view of your Gantt WBS. You can do it easily by clicking on the cogwheel icon, and typing the desired column name:

One additional important thing to mention is that the sorting will behave differently if the tasks are grouped into a particular hierarchy: for example by EPIC. On such occasion, in order not to break the created task structure, the sorting option will sort the child tasks, without the parent task (in simple structure):
