How do I remove transitions from the status dropdown?

I don't know what I did but suddenly transition labels started showing up in the status dropdown. These are not helpful to us and I want to remove them but can't figure out how:

Hi @Stoney deGeyter ,

When you use the "View Workflow" option from the status dropdown, you get the option to view transition labels, can you try to disable this and check if the transitions are still visible?

First thing I tried and I found it didn't work. Ended up removing all the transitions, which did the trick.

PS: perhaps you can add a little more details to what the workflow was with the issue you faced, and what it looks like now that you've fixed it.

Not all that adept at workflows. I added transitions just trying to figure ways to order the statuses and by doing so it added them in the status drop down. No transitions means there are none to show in the dropdown, which is what I wanted.
