I see that is possible to set roles for the whole scheme and for a singular object type; I need some people to be have the Developer role in one specific Object Type and not be able to visualize the others.
Is this possible? Or do I have to set the roles for the whole schema too?
I tried to set one person for the developer role in an object type and didn't set anything for the schema, and the person wasn't able to accede the object type.
Hi there,
This Atlassian documentation here should assist you with understanding permissions for Assets. It is possible to configure permissions for the object schema as well as for object types and the page I referenced sheds more light on this.
Hello Chris, thank you very much! Do you also know if and what is the correlation between Project Roles and Asset Roles? Or if there is any documentation on this?
I have a few colleagues who don't have access to the project but need to have access to the Object Scheme only to view resources.

Hi Maria,
While someone could certainly have both project permissions and Assets permissions, these are separate. So, it's very possible for someone to only have permissions within Assets but not be able to view any Jira projects. The one caveat to that is that in order to view Assets object schemas, you need to have a Jira Service Management agent license.
Within an object schema, you can then configure users and groups into the different roles for Assets.

Thank you, this is very useful for me! This explains why my colleague with a customer account wasn't able to access Asset.
