We use the Timeline view in a JIRA software project and see suspended users to the right of issue search input. I appreciate the value of having this where epics/parents or issues assigned to that user are displayed however our view is set to hide completed issues and they appear any way. To clarify they are not a part of any open issue. Is there any way to hide these users? Do they have to be deleted?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Matt,
From what I know (please correct me everyone if I'm wrong), but, there's currently no built-in way within Jira to hide suspended users specifically from the Timeline view, even if they're not assigned to any open issues and you have your view set to hide completed issues. I think this is because their presence is tied to their past involvement in the project, particularly if they were assigned to epics or parent issues that are still visible in the Timeline.
I'll do some digging to double check though
Our issue is similar or may be exactly what is posted. Our users don't want to see people who have left the team in the assignee selection on the timeline except if the items are open or in-progress so they can be re-assigned. It would be nice if you could have the assignee selection be based on the items viewing on the timeline (e.g. show completed for 3, 6, 9, 12 months) and the closed items that fall outside of the selection would NOT have the person show in the assignee selection.
I believe when viewing the backlog or board (kanban or scrum) that the assignees are based on what information is displayed on the board.
