Has Work Management Calendar behavior changed to be paginated?

James Spicher October 14, 2024

Did the way the Calendar work change or is there a setting somewhere that controls how the calendar behaves? Or has it always behaved this way and the user never encountered the scenario with that many issues before?

Note: I have not worked with Team-Managed or even Work Management projects much so I'm taking the user's word that behavior is different.

One of our Team-Managed project users contacted me regarding a change in behavior with the Calendar on her project. She said that prior to 2-3 weeks ago when she went to the calendar it showed all the issues on one calendar page, but the calendar is now showing  paginated result with odd results on the two different pages. She mentioned that if there were more issues than could be viewed on a particular day it would have a link showing how many more not visible. But at least all the results were on one calendar page.

Now the Calendar shows 1-50 of N issues and 1 of N pages at the bottom right. And the first page may show one issue on a certain date and the next page shows a different issue. This creates a challenge for users to easily see the total number of issues on a specific date.

Examples:

  • Oct 7th - The first calendar page doesn't show any issues on Oct 7th. The second calendar page shows an issue on Oct 7th.
  • Oct 30th - The first calendar page shows one issue on Oct 30th with no indication that there is another issues due on that day. However, the second calendar page shows a different issues on Oct 30th and no indication the other issues exists.
  • Nov 1st - The first calendar page shows 2 issue with a link to 3 more. On Page 2 there are 3 issues shown, but they are the 3 that weren't visible. There is a total of 8 issues due that date.

Hello @James Spicher

That pagination of the calendar view was introduced with this Suggestion:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-84582

That has resulted in this new Suggestion:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-84585

However, I recommend that you use the Feedback button in Jira within the Help menu to provide your feedback about your experience directly to Atlassian, or open a support case to get that information directly to Atlassian.
