I definitely need this, so if you have any knowledge on this, please let me know.

Hi @Chelsea Park ,

If you are open to an app from the Atlassian Marketplace, you can look at our Google Sheets Integration for Jira. Exports can be one-time, scheduled, or real-time You can also export much richer data to create more sophisticated reports (Assets, Changelogs, Projects, Sprints, Users, etc.). Google Sheets can be configured so that changes sync back to Jira via our Google Workspace app once the Jira add-on above is installed. Give it a try.

Kind regards,

The Mobility Team

Hi @Chelsea Park,

I assume you are aware of Jira's official Google Sheets integration? To the best of my knowledge it is not real-time, and only one-way (from Jira to Google Sheets) - but depending on your exact use case, it may be worth a try.

I'm not personally aware of any real-time syncing.

Hope this helps,

Best,

Hannes

... and just to add to the above: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, there's a number of apps that bring spreadsheet capabilities straight into Jira. Depending on your exact use case, this may be worth considering, too; this way, you can keep your data in Jira, and don't need to worry about syncing back and forth.

As an example, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchies, issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

This is how it looks in action:

All this is happening directly in Jira, using your live Jira data. What you see above is really just one of a virtually endless number of possible views; just like in Google Sheets, there's almost nothing that you can't do with JXL.

Any questions just let me know!

@Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira Thank you so much, Hannes! What I needed was your first recommendation, but I'll definitely look into your app.

Like others said, there is no bi-directional sync between Google Sheets and Jira issues.

But if you are open to export to XLSX, the standard spreadsheet file format, and import that to Google Sheets, then it is possible with our Better Excel Exporter app. XLSX is the "lingua franca" of spreadsheets, supported by all major tools.

This is how the sane Jira data looks after being imported to the most widely used ones:

The power of our app is flexibility, ease of use and wide range of ready-made export templates.

(Discl. it is a paid and supported app developed by our team. Free for 10 users!)
