Free Cloud Jira instance is down, but general Jira is fine?

Hemesh Patel March 18, 2024

Hi All,

We started getting the following last week on our Free Jira instance (and continued to today) :-

"Your Atlassian Cloud site is currently unavailable.

Please check Atlassian Status for known problems.
If there are no known problems and your page hasn't appeared again in 5-10 minutes then please contact our support team.

Request ID: 3c34b6a2761448c5a424f11e3b5caa1d"

Anyone seen this or know what the problem might be? As i'm on the free tier, I can't get direct support to investigate :(

Hi @Hemesh Patel

It looks like this site has been deactivated.  I created a support case on your behalf over in https://getsupport.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/35/CA-2881597

Only a member of our customer advocate team could reactivate the site.  I recommend following up in that ticket for additional help here.

Thanks @Andy Heinzer , that is very much appreciated.

This is definately an interesting one since I didn't request de-activation due to being on the free tier, so I wonder if something triggered automatically. I'll keep an eye on the support ticket and feedback in case it was something I did not realise.

They are deactivated after a period of inactivity. Unsure of the duration before this occurs. Something to discuss with support via ticket.

Got word back: -

  • Being on a Free Tier, if the subscription renewal is set to "None" then it will deactivate after a month, so it needs to be set to Auto-Renew
  • If there are 120 days of inactivity, then it would be deactivated (in our case we accessed it last week).

Thanks for your help both, much appreicated.

Hemesh Patel March 18, 2024

I've asked a couple users of it yes, I'll ask a couple more to see.
