Dots (days in status)

Hello Everyone, 

I would like to ask you about dots which are referring to how many days one issue is in the specific status. I would like to know if I can somehow double check what is that exact day when issue started to be in particular status. When I open Epic description I see that dots are for sure not referring to Creation date neither to Updated date.

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

If you are referring to the dots on card when you are viewing the cards on a board, those are a visualization of how many days the card has been in the column.

It is not a one-for-one representation; it is not one dot for each day. If you hover over the dots you will get a pop-up that says how many days the issue has been in that column.

Since statuses are mapped to columns you would need to look at the date that the issue transitioned to the status mapped to that column to make a comparison of the dots to actual duration.
