Create issue within Epic

Colin Breame March 13, 2013

Is there anyway of assigning a new issue to a (Greenhopper) epic from the Create Issue screen?

Likewise, can this be done when viewing/editing an issue? (i.e. assign to epic)

Hi Colin,

We have two open issues in the GreenHopper backlog to add this functionality:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-6539

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-6854

Please add your vote and comment on them, also if you watch them then you will see further updates. I believe they are both asking for the same thing but we've kept both as there's a lot of useful commentary on them.

Yes Colin, there is an opened ticket for that here.

Hi Colin,

There is no way to use GreenHopper fields in the JIRA creation screen. In fact, if you install the latest GreenHopper version (6.1.4.2) you will see those fields (GreenHopper fields) with the "Locked" text besides them in the Fields screen.

In resume, the only way to assign an issue to an epic is by dragging it.

Cheers,
Andre

That's unfortunately - it's not always easy to find the issue within the agile board.

Do you know if this is a planned feature?
