Change status of issue with subtasks

My team assigns subtasks for user stories (issue). Is there a way to change the status of the parent issue to 'Done' when the status of all subtasks are also 'Done'?

Is there a way to change the issue status at all? I only seem to be able to do so when the issue contains no subtasks.

If you're using JIRA Agile, it will do that automatically for you!  (Well, it will ask if you want to close the parent when you close the last open subtask)

If not, then you will need to find or write a plugin to do it for you (there's several on the marketplace)

I'm not sure what you mean by "change issue status at all" - at a guess, you've installed a condition (via a plugin) that may be blocking your workflow.  If the condition is "issue must have subtasks in status X" then whoever wrote it has neglected the "no subtasks" scenario.
