When you click on a task, and it helpfully shows you a list of subtasks, you get the priority icon. Whether you want it or not. Whether it is a field in your issue or not.
Why doesn't the display of an issue in any context follow the same rules? If there is no Priority field, then Jira should never, ever, under any circumstance, show a Priority field. But sometimes it does.
This is because Jira engineers do not know how to write a function. Every instance of displaying an issue is cut and pasted code; hence, if anything changes, every single instance in every single screen must be updated by hand. As this is too much work, they just don't bother.
Perhaps someday Jira engineers will discover the concept of a function. I have hope as I taught my daughter this concept at the age of five playing Robot Turtles.
Hi @Aashish Gupta - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You can also edit the Create screen used by your project to remove the field from the screen (and the Edit screen also if you don't want anyone updating it after it is created).
I hope that helps!

What do you mean delete the priority field? Do you just mean you don't want to display it anymore? (You can't delete it as it's a system field). If you want to remove it from your screens, you need to edit the project's Field Configuration and select the "Hide" option for Priority.

I want to remove the priority field means when I will create any issue it will not visible for all and for an existing issue it will not refect.
Thanks

Yes, as per my post above go to your Field Configuration and edit it. Scroll down to find the Priority field, and select "Hide".
