Can't create task in JIRA Core

I've created a new project within Jira Core and when I try and create an issue, it won't allow me to select 'task' as an 'issue type'... only 'test'. I am a JIRA Administrator on our instance.

Anyone had a similar problem? How do I solve? (Very very new to JIRA!)

Hello,

Go to the project settings and choose the issue type menu. Have a look which issue types are available for your project.
