Can't create an issue when on an issue page (JIRA)

I want to create an issue, either by pressing the blue Create button at the top nav area or create a sub-task.

Steps - Navigate to an issue, click Create (issue).

Problem - spinny wheel forever, error in console

I have included screen capture of the console from Chrome and Edge.

I have also tried in Incognito with no success.

We are on version 8.1.0

To create an issue I have to navigate away from an issue to a dashboard and then I can create an issue. If i want a sub task I have to change it from an issue to a subtask manually each time.

It turned out to be a plugin, not sure which one exactly but we removed a bunch of older plugins and we no longer get this error.
