I'm in the middle of trying to add users for a testing milestone we're heading into, and out of nowhere, Jira has stopped allowing me to add users. I keep getting the message: "Unable to add [user@email.com] We couldn't send your invitation. Try inviting that user again."

Except when I try to add the user again, I keep receiving the same message.

Hi @Patricia Gonzalez

I hope you are within the license limit.

  • Verify the Product Access, for example for JIRA Software, see if the license usage has reached its maximum limit. You can check for the Confluence Access, if the Confluence uses JIRA Directory.

  • If yes, you can do one of the following to address this issue:
Option 1: Increase the license limit for JIRA software.
Option 2: Uncheck the JIRA software application access checkbox when inviting a user (in this case all newly invited users are not be able to use JIRA software features after invitation).

Thanks,
Amith Mathur

Hi @Amith Mathur _Appfire_ , I use Jira Cloud and don't have that limitation. I did change the "Site access" option just now to "Only invited users can join" and tested it using another email address and that seemed to work. I believe another administrator at my organization may have changed it to the "Anyone with one of the following email address domains can join:" option, but then didn't enter any domains. I'll post again if I continue to have issues adding users.

thank you for your response!
