Does anyone know of a way to use JIRA as a reservation system? For example, we want have customers sign up for appointments to visit an office. If someone has already reserved a specific time slot, we don't want that time slot to be available anymore.
I'm guessing this isn't possible out of the box. I have searched the Atlassian Marketplace and haven't found anything. Any ideas on how to implement this type of functionality?
Thank you.
Hi there @Brett
Hope all is well. I recently came across this question and I'm happy to say that our team is in the midst of implementing something very similar to your ask above.
We currently have a prototype of this idea and would love to hear your thoughts/feedback on our prototype.
Please let me know if you/your team would be interested to test it out.
Thanks & have a great day! :)
Hi @Darshanaa _ServiceRocket_ ,
Some customers of us are asking for a reservation system.
Including a use case for reserving a car in a car share offer.
Is there any more news about your implementation?
Regards,
Marco Brundel

Hi @Marco Brundel,
Thanks for reaching out! While Scheduler for JSM isn't currently designed as a full reservation system, it excels at scheduling appointments within JSM.
If there's a possibility Scheduler for JSM could be adapted for your appointment booking needs within JSM, I'd love to chat further. Would you be comfortable sharing your email address so we can discuss this in more detail?
In any case, even if Scheduler for JSM doesn't perfectly align with your car share reservation needs, we'd still be thrilled to get your feedback on our prototype from a user perspective. Please let me know if you'd be interested in testing it out!
Best,
Darshanaa

We've also been working on something to integrate scheduling with the JSM ticketing system.
You can take a look at Service Scheduler for Jsm
It may not meet your needs, but you will have to be the judge of that. We're also more than happy to discuss needs.
regards,
Erik

Have you been able to test this and does it work as you expect/want? We have a similar sharing cars use case for one of our customers and we might want to use the same.

@Stéphane Veraart @Marco Brundel I've looked more closely and I dont think that our product will meet your needs. I apologize for the suggestion - please don't waste your time on testing it out.
As I understand it, you are looking especially for a resource booking/facilities management type of functionality: something similar to room bookings/reservations but for cars.

Hi @eriklebel : thanks for your reply and we (separately for different customers) are indeed looking for booking resources (cars and others) through a calendar view also displaying availability of the resource.

Hi Brett,
This can be done using some customization.
Initially you have to create a custom issue type, then you have to create a screen for registration with few custom fileds. The custom field for the timeslot should have backend script to identify and display only one timeslots that aren't booked.

Praveen, thank you so much for the answer and insight. I know how to do everything you mentioned except the scripting part. Any ideas on a basic script with some generic fields? Thanks for your assistance.

Hi Brett,
Did you manage to do it properly? any useful tips as I also have the same issue?
thank you

Hi team, any updates or suggestions regarding this?
We want to give the option to 'some' customers to book a callback moment during a certain timeslot.
Thanks for your feedback!

Also looking for someone that was able to do this successfully. We have a similar use case that I would like to implement.
Thanks!
