Can I remove the "Builds Workflow" read-only workflow?

I'm trying to clean up unused statuses and unused workflows, and since we don't use the Builds Workflow at all I would like to remove it and the associated statuses. Is this possible?

Hello Joshua,

Thank you for contacting community.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to delete system workflows from JIRA since they will always be used when creating a new issue type or status from scratch. In fact, system workflows are native on JIRA to make sure that new issue types and statuses are added to a valid workflow.

That been said, you can still unmap the builds workflow from your issues if you are not intending to use it and it will be moved to the inactive session of the workflow's page.

Please, let me know if I can help you with any other questions.

I wonder how we are able to detect, if they are system workflows or not?

And furthermore the entityId is Builds Workflow as well. That doesn't make any sense... so making a request for that particular workflow via REST API will not work.
