Can I add a custom icon to /images/icons/priorities

I have tried attaching an icon to an issue and right clicking to get URL but it does not work for me. I HAD an icon hosted on my website and it worked fine for years. Now JIRA cannot find it altho it is still on my website.

Can I add an icon directly to /images/icons/priorities?

Thanks.

I have tried that. Here is a screenshot of the URL:

fix normal.jpgAnd that is the link that shows my icon correctly.

It just started messing up today. Fine yesterday

You can use your own icons for priorities. As the site admin go to Admin > Issues > Priorities. Click on the edit and in the next screen you will need to provide an icon URL where the icon is stored (provided by you).

I can’t say what has gone wrong TBH. If it was working and suddenly stopped then either the icon is not reachable or possibly some bug. I use my own icons and haven’t seen any issues. Of course as this is Cloud we are likely on different versions.

maybe try a new storage location altogether.

I added the image to another website and still no luck. Looks like I will have to use one of the five icons they have. :(

Hi @Ken Jacobs ,

Here is KB link to customize priority icon

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-upload-custom-priority-icons-in-jira-788961156.html

If you are facing issues, I would say,

create a test issue

Attach the icon as attachment to the issue

Right click on the attachment on the issue and copy link address

Use that as a priority icon URL when creating new priority/editing existing priority

Hi @Ken Jacobs ,

Did you try to

create a test issue in your Atlassian instance

Attach the icon as attachment to the issue

Right click on the attachment on the issue and copy link address of the attachment

Use that as a priority icon URL when creating new priority/editing existing priority

Yes several times. But now I cannot even copy the link address as an option. Before when I could the URL started with "blog:"

But when you hover the mouse on the attachment, you will the url at the bottom of the page. Give it a try. With server, it would be like /secure/attachment/attachmentnumber/attachmentname .

NO URL in the bottom left. All I see is thisicon1.jpg

ok. Do you know the path of your attachments? You can find it even on the system page.? Right click on the attachment and open it on the new window. Look for the URL of attachment

@Niranjan I'm facing the same problem, my attachements starts with blob:https://.......
removing "blob:" results in broken link (404 not found). Please help

@Ken Jacobs or @Marcin - were you able to solve your issue? I am in the same situation as you, with the "blob" URL.

I've managed to solve it - I've switched to old issue view and from there you can open the attachment and get the normal link. It looks like new view is concentrating on not showing users the direct link to attachments, that is why you get those "blob" links - which is a link to a browser's cache on local drive.

If the attachment got deleted for somewhat reason then you will lose your icon everywhere.
There should be a proper way to upload images to that folder "/images/icons/priorities/".

I have not been able to get this to work: Based on https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-upload-custom-priority-icons-in-jira-788961156.html I should be able to, but even when I can get a link to an icon work (not easy!) the icon doesn't show up. Rather, on the edit priorities screen, the name shows where the icon should be:

And on an issue, the default icon (unknown, in our case) shows up, with no color.

Am I missing something?
