Added new group to Jira but it's empty

I have 4 separate Jira groups in AD. I added a 5th group, added the users, forced a sync, the group was imported but it's empty. I waited a few hours to see if they would sync over time but still nothing. Is there anything i can do to force the user to show up in the group inside Jira?
