Activity Stream RSS authentication for Google Apps integrated on demand instance

Miles Tillinger January 5, 2012

Our on demand instance is integrated with Google Apps. If I visit an RSS feed URL using os_authType=basic, it challenges me for username and password. I've tried to use my Google Apps account details, but this is rejected (I tried email address or username, neither works). Is there some other non-Google Apps username/password combination I should be using?

Ultimately I want to be able to add Activity Stream RSS feeds to my Google Reader account so I can use Reader Notifier (http://goo.gl/ArnNx) to see activity alerts via growl... If there's an easier way to do this, please let me know! nb. I am aware Google Reader doesn't support feed auth, so it might not be possible...

Hi Miles! To achieve this, try using the local username and password for your OnDemand instance. This password is set in OnDemand, not Google Apps (if you are a normal user, go to your profile page in OnDemand and set the password. If you are an admin, you can manage users in the administration page, and set password for the users). See http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Changing+Your+Password+in+Atlassian+OnDemand
