Thanks @Gonchik Tsymzhitov! 15 of the top 20 Jira Server apps are already compatible with 8.0, and more are being added each week. We know this is a key part of customers being able to upgrade, so we appreciate your patience!

Great news Jessica! I have however discovered an issue with the Windows installer and posted a question here.

Thanks for raising this, @Jacques - this issue is resolved in Jira 8.0.1: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/issues-resolved-in-8-0-1-966679555.html

Jacques February 24, 2019

hey @Shana ... I've tried the 8.0.1 install but still find it has the same problem. There's no way to install Jira in another directory than the "default". What permissions is the installation expecting to have?

Fingers crossed you can upgrade soon @Anton Chemlev - Toolstrek - ! You'll get lots of good updates, like shared editing of filters and dashboards, in addition to the 8.0 updates :)

There is no rollback in the software, you will have to restore from the backup you took before doing the upgrade.

Danila Koshel February 12, 2019

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist-, but we did :)

By using the old application backup and home folder backup. And the database still the same. I didn't check all, but now it's enough for my friend to wait few weeks while new apps versions will be I guess.

Hey @Vivek thanks for asking. The roadmaps feature in Jira Cloud is not included in the Jira Server & Data Center 8.0 release. As we've most recently shared at Summit 2018, our Cloud and Server product offerings are developed independently, which allows us to make the best prioritization decisions for each set of customers. We can’t promise when (or if) specific features will be deployed in Jira Server, but the Jira Server team is investigating and learning from customer feedback on Cloud. We’ll be balancing which elements of the Cloud experience would be most valuable with our other priorities around performance, administrative control, and team productivity in Jira.

Hello @Jess Seitz, so you meant that we have a chance to don't see roadmaps on the server instances?

Hi @Danila Koshel, that's right, roadmaps is not an available feature with Jira Server, but we'd encourage you to check it out on Jira Cloud and let us know what you think!

Danila Koshel February 12, 2019

@Jess Seitz, sad to hear, but we could use portfolio instead, right?

February 12, 2019

@Danila Koshel Yes, portfolio is another option! The roadmaps we've built into Jira Cloud and the roadmapping functionality in Portfolio serve two different purposes and we will continue to support both. The new roadmaps are much simpler than Portfolio and take quite a different approach, just drag and drop. If you have more advanced roadmapping needs, like understanding capacity and dependency, Portfolio is the best option for you and you are in good hands!
