This add on have appeared on our JIRA without me as an Admin having known about it, which probably means that some random user have just tried downloading it, and it is now available for everyone. I have not yet concluded whether it is something we want all users to be capabale of doing, with the risk that they make bulk changes to a lot of issues by mistake, so is there any way of 1) removing the add on again, or 2) change permissions, so only some users can use it (as it goes for the Bulk change global permission)?

@Helle Hagen Rasmussen : hi! All this add-on lets you do is export Jira issues that you have access to via your permissions to a spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets) so you can create reports. You can't push any changes you make in the spreadsheet back to Jira, so there is no bulk change possible from the spreadsheet. So that should hopefully alleviate this concern.
When I am using JIRA() function it returns "Start import... " text, imported row count, and also field names as headings with data. I want to get only data. Is there any way to get only data while importing?

Hello @Kumudu_Samarakoon , thank you for the comment. Unfortunately there is no way to get only data, JIRA() function was implemented to return number of imported rows (issues), as well as headings, date, time and User who initiated import. Will be happy to assist if there are any other questions. Thanks Best regards, Dasha
Hi, I am looking to have this feature be used by my team but we currently use Office 2016 Pro Plus. I was wondering if this was compatible with this version or not?
I would assume not as I have tried to install it to no avail, and also see that it's not compatible with Office 2016 and Office 2019 Pro Plus. But it's worth double-checking just in case.
Add-In is supported for Excel 2016+ ; Excel 2016 for Mac ; Excel Online (https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/office/WA200000556). Could you please describe installation steps you perform and if it is possible share screenshot of actual result received?
I see a screenshot in the comments regarding a refresh sheet data button, however this does not exist in the most current version. Is the "refresh" now simply clicking "Get data now" again with the saved parameters?
I have this excel add-in enabled and am using the JIRA.JQL function in excel to query the status of specific issues. If I enter =JIRA.JQL({issue key}, "status"), I get 4 rows worth of results (see below), only one of which is what I actually want-namely the status of the issue. Is there any way to limit/modify how the results are displayed? Having 4 rows returned for each row containing the JIRA.JQL function prevents me from applying this across multiple adjacent rows

Hello @Sean Pham , Thank you for the question. Now there is 'Get Data Now' button that changes to 'Refresh Data' after the first import on the Sheet, and back to 'Get Data Now' if at least one import parameter was edited after that. Will be glad to assist if any other question comes up. Kind regards, Dasha

Hello @John Croll , Thank you for the question. If I understand correct you are asking if it is possible not to show the following three rows : 1 - "Starting Import ...'; 2 - "<number> rows imported in ..." ; 3 - "<table header>". Unfortunately for now there is no way to make them not to appear. Will be glad to assist if any other question comes up. Kind regards, Dasha
Would LOVE to see the ability to update ticket status, at a minimum, from the Excel side and push to update Jira - this would be HUGE!! Otherwise, this makes running my meetings a lot more user-friendly for the team - thank you!
I am not able to do a correct login from Excel. A web page is opened in a browser and I can select a Jira sites for which I want to authorize this app. After clicking "Accept" this error message is displayed:
Do I understand correct that you have access to selected Jira site? If it is possible could you please try to select some other Jira to which you also have access?
May I also ask you to try the following flow: Jira → 'Filters' -> Run some saved Filter (or create and run some JQL Query) -> click on ‘Open In Microsoft Excel' button → ‘Excel On Desktop’ / 'Excel Online’.
many thanks for picking this up. In a nutshell, this is solved. Thanks
To answer your questions:
Do I understand correct that you have access to selected Jira site?
Yes, the user is SITE_ADMIN on this Jira site and has a M365 license.
If it is possible could you please try to select some other Jira to which you also have access?
Sorry, this is the only Jira site I have access to.
Excel On Desktop:
- A web page is displayed for Jira Cloud for Spreadsheets would like to
access my account.
- after accepting, an Excel spreadsheet is created and downloaded. It
opens in Excel desktop as expected.
Excel Onine:
- Microsoft requests me to login. I am using my M365 account, which is
different from my Jira account.
- After successful login a new page is opened requesting access from
Jira Cloud for Excel to my data
- after accepting another web page is displayed for Jira Cloud for
Spreadsheets would like to access my account.
- after accepting, a new browser tab is created with Exel Online
featuring requested data.
- when selecting "Open in Excel" a second time, it immediately opens
Excel Online in a new tab. Great!
