What can we learn?
Experiencing a problem with a Jira Cloud product? Don’t file a support ticket yet! Start any troubleshooting investigation by first visiting status.atlassian.com. All known problems are reported there.
In the example, there’s an incident in the Atlassian Developers area. Click any application name or service for current status information, a list of known issues, updates, or past incident history.
You can subscribe to get status updates via email, phone, Slack, webhook, or RSS.
Next Troubleshooting Steps
If the status.atlassian.com website reports no known problems, then try restarting your browser. Many times, when functions on a website aren’t working as expected, it’s because my browser is awaiting an update and needs a re-launch.
Next, I always check the public bug tracker at jira.atlassian.com. Each Atlassian product has it’s own Jira project and requests are categorized as bugs or suggestions. You can search for problems using JQL like you’d do to find information in your own Jira application. For example, search for incomplete bugs in the Jira Software Cloud product using a query like:
project=JSWCLOUD AND type=Bug AND statusCategory!=Done and text ~ "my problem" ORDER BY updated
Sometimes I also do a quick search on community.atlassian.com in case other users are talking about the problem I’m experiencing.
Finally, if the problem isn’t already reported, file a support ticket at https://support.atlassian.com/contact.
Happy troubleshooting!
