Rubén Barrantes November 6, 2023

Hi Guys,

We have deleted some tasks in Jira but they still showing on the Activity Timeline. How can we resolved that since when we try to make a change we got an error, for example:

Error during updating estimate [404] status code: 404, reason phrase: Not Found {}.

Hi Ruben,

Usually, the system searches for deleted issues and removes them automatically from the background, but it does happen that it misses some of the items. This usually happens when there are a lot of updates in Jira within a short period of time.

You can remove such issues in one of the following ways:

1. You can trigger an automatic 'Detect & Remove Deleted Issues' action so that the system will search for all tickets that are no longer present in Jira and remove them from the Database:

Configuration->Synchronization->Refresh issues-> Detect & Remove Deleted Issues

2. In case the automatic 'Detect & Remove Deleted Issues' function didn't work, you can still remove such issues manually in Configuration->Issues->Maintenance:

Also, to prevent this from happening again we have introduced a new approach to removing deleted Jira issues & worklogs. You need to do the following to enable it on your instance:

1. Switch on a Custom Functionality in Configuration->Advanced Settings:
ENABLE_WEBHOOKS

2. Go to Configuration->Jira Integration->Webhooks Config-> Add there your email & Atlassian Token:

3. Click to create Webhooks and, you'll see 2 webhooks that's been created:

4. Voilà, from now on all issues, and worklogs will be removed right after the task has been deleted from your Jira.

Hi Svitlana, hope you're doing well.

Thanks for the support. We followed the first step but it works partially, so we proceed to combine that one and the second one.

Thanks again.

Good day!

@Rubén Barrantes Is your platform on-prem? If so I'd consider performing a backround reindex after hours if your a global administrator.
