"Component/s" field is required and the project "project_name" does not have any components.

I get this error when trying to create a new ticket. As the error message suggests, I don't use the field "Component/s" on this screen and there is no workflow validation checking for "Component/s" (at least I don't see it). The only workflow validator I see is this:

"Only users with Create Issues permission can execute this transition."

Mandatory fields are not handled just by validators.  Check the field configuration for the project and issue-type.  Has that got components set as mandatory?
