permissions to use the team field in jira, and other related questions.

hello

I see in jira documentation that anyone in the organization can create / edit delete the jira teams .

https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-account/docs/what-is-an-atlassian-team/

1.is it possible to limit who can do that? I want users only to use the team field  on issues but not to manage the teams

2.when we delete a team - all issues will no longer display it, is it possible to archive a team so that old issues with that team will only show it ? like the "disable" functionality on list custom field.

3. we have several jira site and different users group in each site. when we create a team we can add users from all the organization, what happenes when we add user that doesn't have permission to site A ? and we assign issues to the team, will the user be able to view the issue? will this effect the amount of users in this site?

Hi @aya nayman

Answers below!

  1. With the new field, it's not possible to limit who can create/edit teams at this stage. There is a feature request for this though, check out JRACLOUD-81740
  2. This isn't possible either at this stage, although there is a feature request for archiving teams too - check out JSWCLOUD-25850
  3. Teams are specific to a single site/instance - and users will need a license to that instance to see issues in it, regardless if they're a member of the Team or not
