[XRAY] Why is test plan "Overall Execution Status" test based and not test execution based?

Ben G February 2, 2021

The "Overall Execution Status" on a test plan has a live status graph of all Passed, Failed, Blocked and ToDo tests in the test plan.  This seems a bit misleading as if you have 1 test, but multiple test executions for that test in different environments, the "Overall Execution Status" only represents this test once.  Wouldn't reporting on the "Test Executions" make more sense?

Hi Ben,

It might help if you look at the Xray User Guide regarding Test Plans and the intent of the Test Plan. It was designed to account for the Test Runs for Tests that are in the the Test Plan, AND for Test Executions that are associated to the Test Plan.

If you feel there could be an enhancement to Test Plans then you could also submit a ticket through the Xpand IT Service Desk.

Thanks,

Rawan
