How to record it in Jira when the story status turns to invalid?

First day : you got ABC story

Second day: you found the ABC story is useless , so you want to turn the status to invalid rather than deleted .

What will you do in this case?

Hi,

 

you can create workflow status as "invalid", so rather than deleting the issue you can simply change the status to Invalid.

but in that case progress count as 100 as the resolution mark as done.

That should not be a problem.  The issue is "done", because "done" actually means "this team does not need to do anything more with this issue".

Whether you zero out any estimates on invalid issues is a long essay question covering many different ways of working and reporting, but an invalid issue really is 100% of its way through its progress.
