Hello Team,

We are currently using Jira v9.4.17 on our DC.

I created an issue by selecting a standard issuetype and a summary in a project. The Start date and End date custom fields which are present in the issuetype screen scheme were kept empty during the issue creation. After multiple refresh on the issue created we observed that Start date and End date custom fields took current date as the value.

Please let us know is it a normal behavior of Jira Issue, also kindly provide the documentation link explaining the same - “When a Issue is created without a value in Start date and End date it automatically takes the created date/current date as the Start date and End date of the issue.”

Regards,

Hi,

Yes we are also facing the same issue. When a issue is created without any date values given in issue creation screen, post the issue is created, after refreshing the page 2-3 times, Start-end date fields get updated with the created date values.

Is there a way to keep the custom date fields empty by default, unless we update the value later-on.
