Unable to Assign Project Roles in Cloned Project

JIRA download 6.1.5

JIRA-clone-project plugin 1.0

I cloned a project using the jira-clone-project plugin. Both the original and the clone use the default permission scheme. I am able to assign users to project roles in the original project, but not in the clone project. The place where you are supposed to click does not turn into an editable field.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

This is caused by the Version Sync for JIRA plugin. When I remove the version sync link between the two projects, the problem goes away.

So it looks like this was nothing to do with the clone project plugin.
