Restricting Time Recording to Certain Issue Types

Hello,

How do I restrict my users time recording to only enable them to assign time to tasks and sub-tasks?

Not really, the ability to log work is a permission, and hence a project level configuration.

A trick I've used is to grant the permission to "log work" to a group-picker custom field (which we never added to a screen). Then, we had workflows that set the group in that field differently on different issue types.
