Is there a way to export from JIRA, an OPML file containing issues and their links, so that we can use other applications to graph them and manipulate the graphs? We have found a graph of all the issues with their links to be very useful for recognizing orphans and incorrect relationships. We have concocted a way to produce a PDF graph, but it is laborious because of its use of XML export followed by multiple scripts and free applications. We would like OPML export so we can use any of the many applications that allow manipulation of OPML data as graphs or outlines.
Tom,
There are multiple plugins existing to visualize issue links as graphs, so you may want to try those instead of reinventing the wheel:
I'm not familiar with any of these.
In case the use-scripts-to-produce-a-PDF process works otherwise well for you, then the JIRA PDF View Plugin allows executing Groovy scripts when generating PDF documents. Your scripts could traverse the issue links and build the graph, then render that into SVG. It may be another thing to try.
