Notification to be de-activated for some users/developers

Paul van Erp January 9, 2019

In our project default settings for notifications,
All events give notifications to : All watchers, current assignee, reporter.
Some of of our users want the notification de-activated at some events like, Assigned/Resolved/Closed.
Is there a way to fine-tune the settings?

Hi Paul,

While it is technically possible to exclude select users from recieving notifications, in reality it means that you simply have to add all users that HAVE TO recieve these notifications. Jira does NOT allow you to exclude users in a notification scheme. So instead of excluding some users that don't need a notification, you'll have to include everyone who does. To say the least that's pretty cumbersome to do and even more so to maintain and I'd say it goes against Jira best practices.

With that in mind, what we do is simply tell our users to configure email filters to filter out all undesired notifications on their email client level.
