New Jira issue view fails to load comment created in old issue view

Phil_Dimeski October 7, 2018

Hi there,

I may have come across a bug with the new Jira issue view. When creating a comment in the old view with the following format:

{quote}

test
!test1.png|thumbnail!

{quote}

 It loads and renders fine in the old issue mode but when moving to the new issue mode the comment will load and then disappear showing the comment with no content. The console is displaying the following error.

RangeError: Invalid content for node blockquote react-dom.production.min.js:188

Hi Phil,

Thanks for reporting this problem.  I have not found any other reports of this problem yet, but I was able to reproduce this problem in a Jira software project in my own Cloud instance.  So I created a new bug for this over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-70697

I would recommend watching this for updates.   I'm not sure when this problem will be addressed, but I would check out our bug fixing policy for details on how Atlassian approaches these kinds of problems.  In the meantime, I would recommend disabling the new issue view to avoid this problem.

Thanks

Andy
