Is there a way to find out what the JIRA screen name is on a MAIN issue panel?

We want to place a custom field on the screen but cannot find the screen name.

On other screens we can hover the cursor and it gives detail. How can we find the exact screen name of the screen we are on in a JIRA issue main view? In this case we want to place a custom field on the details section. We use custom fields & screens

example: Jira Issue>Main>Details section of main issue view

Not in the way you describe "main". The problem is that "issue view" is a mass of different things entwined together, and the current Jira "screen" is just one part of it.

You can work it out, but you'll have to do it via standard config.

First, you need to work out the mode - are you viewing an issue, editing it, creating it, or are you in the middle of a transition? (Note, if you're using inline-edit, then it's "view")

Next, take note of the issue type

Next, go to the project header.

If you are looking at a transition screen, then go into workflow scheme, find the issue type mapped to the workflow, then open up the workflow transition you are on and that will tell you which screen it is.

If you are looking at create/edit/view, then go into the issue-type-screen-scheme, find your issue type mapping and descend into that screen-scheme, which will tell you which screen is used for each of the three actions (if they're not named, then it's "default")
