I want to export a Jira project from Jira A to Jira B. is it possible? does it dissapear from A?

Guillermo Salinas March 6, 2019

I have a Project in my Jira´s company (Jira A), due to that, the customer is asking to move it to their Jira (Jira B).

I dont know what I need to do for that and also I am affraid to do it because I dont know if when I am exporting it, it would be deleted from Jira A, so If I doing it wrong, I can loose all the information.

Thanks in advance.

If you do an export it will still remain in the source system JIRA A.  Atlassian has directions here on how to do this. https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-migrate-projects-from-one-jira-cloud-application-to-another-779160766.html?_ga=2.187286312.1241524873.1551714976-1785046573.1549295491  You will want to only import the individual project and not the whole application.

If there are not any attachments you could just export and import issues.  This will be an easier process. https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/importing-issues-776636788.html?_ga=2.187286312.1241524873.1551714976-1785046573.1549295491

Thank you so much for your answer.

I was  able to export the file from Jira A but I did not have the chance to choose only one of my two projects. What I did is in the zip file I delted the project that I dont want to import to Jira B.

The import to Jira B is pending. I´ll let you know

Thanks again
