We are investigating the use of various plugins to allow our users to login using Single Sign-on (SSO). Eventually, SSO login will be the only login method. The Enterprise OpenID Connect plugins place a button in the login UI so that user's can choose to login via SSO. This works fine. However, we'd prefer not to show that login UI at all and just direct users to the requested page if they're have already authenticated via SSO or to the SSO login page if they haven't already authenticated.
So the question is, how can we skip the JIRA/Confluence login UI altogether?
Thanks!
A lot depends on what protocol you actually want to use for SSO – you mentioned OpenID app but is this the protocol you are after?
Please look at various SSO apps available on Marketplace.
Our apps are EasySSO for Jira and EasySSO for Confluence – we offer 5 different authenticatorsL NTLMv2, Kerberos, SAML, X.509 and HTTP Headers to give you and your Solution Architects more choice in the SSO space. We do not do OpenID.
We do support SAML, we will work with or without LDAP directories, and with or without Crowd (you most definitely do not need Crowd to achieve SSO). By default in "no button" access to any resource that requires authentication will trigger SAML authentication flow. We also offer "forced SAML" mode when SAML also triggered on login/logout pages, effectively removing regular login from normal users.
Also, if you are running a Windows Domain, then with NTLMv2/Kerberos you can get a proper SSO between your Jira and your workstation – login once into your workstation, open the browser or click on a regular link (i.e. in the email) and you are "in" automaGically though the power of Integrated Windows Authentication, all using the industry-standard protocols supported by all major browsers, without any annoying SAML-related redirects.
Ours will work on intranet, VPN, mobile networks and even over internet (though why would anyone do that is a big question).
Most importantly our support is 24x7, the link is available on the Marketplace listing.
Please, look into seraph.
At the moment a lot of app in marketplace to that activity.
Also, Atlassian provide a SAML for DC and cloud solutions
