How to manage the resolution field setting

We keep getting issues set as done in the resolution field, do not know what it is we do to cause this (this morning I added people to the board and all of the in development issues got set = Resolved) whenb this happens they disappear of the board. I do not know how to get them back or change the resolution field value.

can you provide a little more information about your board setup? Have a look at the screenshot:

Is your board configured to set a resolution when you move issues (Applies to Scrum Boards)? Can you also please check the filter and probably the sub-filter if it's a Kanban board in the settings? Is it excluding filters that have been resolved?

Depending on the workflow, it could be enough to transition the issues to a different status again as the resolution field is often cleared when doing so. If not, you can add a new global / self-reflecting transition that clears the field value. But for now, it would already be helpful if you provide some information about the type of project and board you're using and the board configuration.

Hi @Gordon V LIttlefair - Can you please advise whether this is for a Company Managed or Team Managed project?

  • Company Managed - The resolution may be getting set as a post-function when the issue transitions to the Done status.  If you want the ability to change the resolution after the fact, the best path is a "loopback transition" where you transition the Done back to itself with a transition screen that allows you to change the resolution.
  • Team Managed - All Team Managed issues automatically set the resolution to Done and there is currently no way around this.
