How to hide done items in the backlog view without updating the items in the board view

Hello,
I know this could have been asked previously, but I would like to ask again the question.

How to hide done items in the backlog view without updating the items in the board view.

Currently, when I tried to edit the filter via general settings, the work item in the board is being updated as well.

My goal is to only hide the done items in the backlog view, and just retain all items <> Done.

Hi @Reyjun salido  Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Usually Backlog, shows only those issues which are in TO DO , IN PROGRESS status category or if Done status is not mapped with right most column, in this case also it shows Done issues.

Kindly check the mapping of Done status in Board Configuration, is it a right most column and for Done issues Resolution is set.

For more info , kindly check the document : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/done-or-resolved-issues-appear-in-a-scrum-board-backlog-in-jira-server-779159078.html

Thanks

V.Y

Hi @Reyjun salido ,

welcome to the Atlassian community!

You can hide completed issues on your board through the following setting :

To hide completed issues:

  1. Go to the desired board, then click  Board >  Configure.
  2. In the Hide completed issues field, select the retention period.
Issues that weren't updated within this period will be hidden.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

This is the answer for a kanban board, but I have one where it's not working and I'm trying to figure out why. I have it set at 2 weeks, and there are a whole lot of old issues still there.
