How to Configure a Kanban Board: How do I get to the General Settings?

Hey all,

I made a Kanban Software Project board (I am the board's administrator) and want to edit its filter. I've read in other posts on here that I need to go to "Board > Configure > General" to do this. However, when I click on the three dots in the top right corner of the board, then click on "Configure Board" (see first picture below), I end up at the project settings menu, which does not include a "General" tab on its left side bar (see second picture below). What am I supposed to do to get to the General page and edit the filter of the board?

If you're trying to edit the board's filter that determines what issues appear on the board in the first place, that's currently not possible with boards in team-managed projects. Boards automatically show you all issues within the project.

If you're looking to filter down the issues that appear on a team managed project's board, you could use custom filters.

I am aware that Atlassian wants to get to feature parity between company-managed and team-managed projects, but not sure how long that will take.

Hi @Devan Rawlings , welcome to the community.

So there are two variations of projects in Jira: Company managed projects and Team managed projects. CMP projects are more flexible but require an administrator to manage. These projects present the board settings that you refer to along with the filter that defines the board. Your TMP project is not configured in the same manner. Might I inquire as to exactly what your goal is? Understanding this will allow me to offer a solution or indicate if it is not possible in a TMP project which, often times is the case.
