How do I grant everyone access to an existing Jira Board

Chris Esperon October 8, 2020

There's an existing Jira Board that's only accessible to a handful of users in the company.  How would I go about changing the permission so that everyone can view and access the board?

Hi @Chris Esperon ,

The access is based on the filter. You can change the filter access from the board settings as in the below screenshot.

I don't have that option under project settings.  Is there an alternative way to get there?

It is not under project settings. It is under board settings. See below screenshot how to access it.

HI All,

I am able to access the board before with the admin access. but now I am unable to view the board because of the error" Board not accessible"

1. I have checked in Board settings> Edit filter shares> In that I am able to see that "The project is shared with "ALL ROLES"

But I am not able to view the board.

Please suggest.

Hi @Arnav - in case your specific question has not been answered, please try this:

1. Navigate to your dashboard

2. Select the ellipsis close to the top right-hand corner of the dashboard

3. From the menu that appears, select 'Rename and share'

4. Viewer and edit access can be adjusted in the dialog box that appears.

NB. as mentioned previously, please make sure the folks you want to share the particular dashboard with, also have access to the filters being used in the dashboard.

I hope this helps.
